Industry Summit on Nature-based Solutions

Innovation in science, engineering, policy, workforce development, and business practices will be needed to advance the development of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to produce sustainable infrastructure systems and resilient communities in the 21st century. The private sector will play critical roles in implementing upscaled NbS. Supporting private sector capacity and means for delivering NbS are essential to progress.

The summit will represent a dialogue with 50-75 representatives from 25-40 companies and organizations across the private sector to identify perspectives regarding needs, gaps, challenges, opportunities, collaborations, and actions pertinent to full-scale, national implementation of NbS.

Participating companies and organizations will include those representing practice and interests in architecture, engineering, construction, technology, insurance, finance, asset and project owners, ports, industry associations, non-profits, among others.

Outcomes:

• Hear leadership perspectives from diverse public agencies during a virtual, pre-event session
• Share your organization’s NbS projects, capabilities, and technologies during a poster session
• Develop new professional relationships, networks, collaborations, and partnerships
• Identify private sector perspectives, needs, and opportunities on NbS during working sessions
• Co-develop a 10-year vision and plan of action for full-scale, national implementation of NbS
