International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) 28th Congress and 93rd Annual Meeting

The 28th International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) World Congress, in combination with the 93rd ICOLD Annual Meeting, is to be held 16th – 23rd May 2025, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province of China.

Theme: Common Challenges, Shared Future, Better Dams

ICOLD Congress is the most professional and influential academic conference in the international dam society, with the purpose of advocating the international community to work together to strengthen multilateral cooperation and exchanges, and jointly promoting “better dams for a better world.” Chengdu congress will provide diverse opportunities to promote the international technical cooperation in the field of dams and reservoirs to a new level, and also play a critical role in promoting dam technology in the world.

WEST Presence:

• WEST President Martin J. Teal, PE, PH, BC.WRE, F.ASCE, is an invited speaker in the May 20th special seminar, “Workshop on Challenges and Countermeasures of Reservoir Sedimentation,” addressing global sedimentation challenges. He will also represent the United States at the annual meeting of the Technical Committee on Reservoir Sedimentation and participate in the ICOLD National Committees of the Americas (INCA) group meeting as immediate past president.
